Naczynia kuchenne/Kitchen containers-cz.VI/part VI

Ta waza z Ateńskiego Muzeum Archeologicznego pochodzi z V wieku przed Chrystusem. Zainteresował mnie realizm sceny w niej przedstawionej. Herkules chwycił jednego z Egipcjan i chce użyć go jako broni przeciwko swoim ciemiężcom.

This vase is a part of an exhibition in Archeological Museum in Athens and is dated V century BC. I was impressed with a realism of the scene on the vase. It pictures Hercules who just escaped from chains of the pharaoh, who wanted to devote him as an offering for some goddess. Hercules took up one of the Egyptians and wanted to use him as a weapon against his persecutors. The second Egyptian raised his hand with an axe against Hercules. The third one realized already that he is in a bad shape and tries to hidden behind the altar. And just imagine that it was a container for olive oil. Well, our civilization will live a lot of identical bottles from hypermarkets.
