Spacerkiem po Starówce prosto do Gruzji/Walking in the Old Town stright to Georgia

Nasz niespodziewany i kolejny ostatnimi czasy spacer po Starówce zawdzięczamy mechanikowi;-)

Our another unexpected walk in the Old Town we owe to a mechanic:)

It may sound strange so I briefly write the story. Exactly last Saturday the deadline for repair of our yacht lapsed, we planned to launch it on that day, as it was supposed to be a sole sunny day during that weekend. However to my greatest surprise I found out that mechanics have better things to do than reading contracts and first of all they have the right to relax…

Well, finally there was a happy end and we additionally had a wonderful walk in a crowd of tourist in the Old Town.

I suppose that the citizens of Warsaw rearly walk in the Old Town, considering this place as purely touristic.

Partly this happens because the Old Town was reconstructed after Second World War in the sixties, later on also the King’s Castle was rebuilt. One may say that this place is a little bit artificial, unfortunately.

The second reason, I guess also very important, is life-style – the capital city always forces rush and many people who works here during weekdays leave the city and go to their towns or villages, so it is hard to be surprised that there is really no tradition of, let’s say, family walks or dinners in the center.

Według mnie Starówka zasługuje na wielki come back:)
In my opinion the Old Town deserves for a big come back!:)

Stare-nowe mury pokryła już wystarczająca patyna, by znów mogły zachwycać.
Old-new walls are already becalmed covered by patina.

I like this mansion, actually you can see only its roof here!

Many aparments are for sale but I do not think there is demand for them - some posters were placed there long time ago.

Some mansions are of the same age as ours, in which we live - most of the buildings were reconstructed in 1951 - 1953.

The hidden goal of this walk was a visit in a Georgian restaurant at Piwna Street. We noticed this place during our last visit in the Old Town and due to my lack of knowledge about cooking in this country combined with love to Borjomi mineral water and due to Jacek’s fondness after a trip to Georgia, we decided to visit this place.

Jacek rozmyśla na gruzińskim winem:-)
Jacek is meditating over the Georgian wine:-)

For the first plate we chose a sopu called „charzi” with home made Geaorgian bread (tasted rather like a roll). The soup was very good, spicy, pity that it was served with the worst and cheapest type of rise-kind of which gets always overcooked.

Georgian dumplings with lamb were really tasty, we didn’t however tried to eat them by the hand.

W środku miejsca dość mało, wystrój niewyszukany, na pewno bez zadęcia.
Its interiors are small and its decorations are not sophisticated.

The cake was a mistake! They were supposed to have two kinds – chocolate and nuts, they tasted almost the same – artificial cakes from markets…Unfortunately rather not a nice accent at the end of our visit…

A niedługo relacja z naszego wyjazdu do zamków w okolicach Łodzi!
And soon a report about our visit in castles close to Łódź city!
