W krainie sztuki i słońca/In the world of art & sun
To był leniwy wrześniowy poranek na Eginie. Miałyśmy już za sobą zwiedzanie głównych atrakcji wyspy, kiedy moja siostra zakomunikowała, że koniecznie musimy jeszcze zobaczyć muzeum jakiegoś współczesnego rzeźbiarza i dom Kazantikosa (autora Greka Zorby).
It was a lazy September Morcing In Aegina. We had already visisted all main attractions on the island when my sister declared that we have to see a museum of a certain modern sculptor and a house of Kazantikos (author of 'Zorba the Greek').
Och, żeby mi się jeszcze chciało! W sumie wyprawa była niedaleka, na przedmieścia stolicy wyspy, jednym autobusem, który krążył w tą i z powrotem. Plus mnie zawsze może przekonać argument, że od samego leżenia na plaży człowiek robi się szerszy niż wyższy, więc ruszyłyśmy:)
Well, I didn’t feel like! But the trip was not long, to the suburbs of the capital of the island, with just one bus, which was going there and back. Besides making trips is good for your weight in comparsion to just spending time on the beach:) So we went.
Dom nie zachwycał, zwykła, opuszczona niewielka siedziba, gdyby nie wmurowana tablica, pewnie byśmy go przegapiły.
The house was not amazing at all, just an abandoned little settlement and if it had not been a stone with description we would have probably just go by.
Ale i tak warto było się wybrać. Przyciągały wzrok klify pochylające się ku ciepłemu morzu, owocujące agawy.
But the trip was worth making! I was enjoying the cliffs descending to the warm sea, fruiting agaves.
Jedliście je kiedyś? Całkiem przyjemny smak, choć najlepiej kupić w sklepie już pozbawione kolców!
Have you ever tried them? A very pleasant flavor but it’s better to buy them in a shop, deprived of thorns!
Kiedy już myślałam, że nigdy nie dojdziemy do muzeum i poprzestaniemy na zazdrosnym zaglądaniu na posesje szczęśliwcom mieszkającym w letnich domkach nad morzem, na horyzoncie zamajaczyła ta oto rzeźba.
When I began to think that we never reach the museum and we will have to be content with jealously peeping into the gardens of the lucky people living by the sea in their summer houses, we finally saw this sculpture.
Muzeum Christosa Capralosa było nasze!

Nasze, bo w muzeum oczywiście nikogo nie było!
Ours, because there was, of course, nobody in the museum!
Nie to, żebym narzekała, ale znacie to uczucie, gdy sprzedawca za wami chodzi w sklepie lub w muzeum właśnie kustosz)i ciągle patrzy na ręce.
You probably know this feeling when you are alone in a shop and a salesman is following you all the time. Here it happened with the museum - keeper.
Czyżby sądzili, że planujemy wynieść dwumetrową drewnianą rzeźbę pod pachą?:)
Did he think that we were planning to take with us a 2-meter long wooden sculpture from the museum?:)
O wiele bardziej od drewnianych dziwolągów podobały mi się płaskorzeźby inspirowane sztuką starożytną.
I preferred much more bas-reliefs inspired with ancient art.
Ciekawe było też malarstwo, które jak dla mnie bardzo oddawało greckiego ducha.
The paintings were also interesting and revealing the Greek character.
Morze, biały kościółek, kąpiące się kobiety. Zauważyliście arbuz na tym górnym?
Sea, white monastery, swiming women. Have you noticed a watermelon above?
W sumie zawsze warto ruszyć z plaży i zobaczyć coś nowego.
It's always worth it to leave the beach and see someting new.
